MLK Planning Subcommittee Minutes December 4th, 2019 Laconia City Hall – Rm. 200B Next meeting January 7th at City Hall Room 200 B at 3 pm Present: Margaret Donnelly, Carol Pierce, David Osman, David Stamps. The meeting came to order at 3pm. The minutes of November 20th were approved David Osman announced that Dr. Larry Benaquist who produced the film “Here I am, Send Me” (vimeo.com/14117023) would join us on January 19th and introduce his film. David Stamps agreed to follow up with Dr. Benaquist on the details and location of the event. Margaret agreed to work with Umija on publicity for the event. She also agreed to help reach-out to Taylor Community with Carol. David agreed to reach out Chris Adam to invite the police and justice community. Carol announced that we had signed a contract with the Congregational Church to use their downstairs meeting room. The committee developed a proposed schedule for the day as follows: 2pm-3pm Doors open, people arrive to do setup and greet visitors 3pm-5pm Program begins: 5min Opening music by Dan Carter 5min Showing of Martin Luther King, Jr. “I have a dream” speech 3min Introduction of Dr. Lawrence Benaquist by David Stamps 5min Introduction of film by Dr. Benaquist 60min Showing of film “Here I am, Send Me” 30min Discussion led by Dr. Benaquist and Rev. Judith Wright 2min Closing remarks by David Stamps 5min Closing music by Dan Carter 5pm-5:30pm Cleanup Budget $150 Church $200 Dr. Benaquist $100 Dan Carter $100 Food/Drinks _____ $550 Submitted by David Stamps
