Martin Luther King, Jr. Planning Committee Meeting
January 5, 2024 3 pm
At the Colonial Theater
Present: Linda Thanas, Richard Littlefield, Ronnie Abbot, Trish Weatherbee, Henry Weatherbee, Patrick
Wood, Matt Soza, David Brochu, Nicole Southworth
Discussion: Our Committee and volunteers met with Nicole Southworth, administrator of the Colonial
Theater as well as the sound technician, Adam, to go over details for the event. We learned that there is
no projector available, and so we ended up renting a big TV screen as well as four mikes. We also had to
have the piano tuned.
We had hoped to have a rehearsal with the children and teachers this day, but they did not come. We
discussed as a committee publicity issues, food issues, technical issues, all in preparation for the January
14th celebration.
Meeting lasted about two hours.
Respectfully submitted by Rev. Judith Wright, Chair of the MLK, Jr. Subcommittee.

familiar with the stage and where they will be speaking from on the stage.
The committee will meet following the rehearsal, to formalize the program and any loose ends.
