Laconia Human Relations Committee TM-CEI Sub-Committee Meeting Held at Lakes Region Mental Health Center May 9, 2024 Minutes In attendance: Pat Wood, David Osman, Sally Ann Schrader, Beth Vachon, Heather Stanley, David Stamps, Carol Stone, Len Campbell, Cathy Bowler and Carrie Chandler  Heather Stanley and Beth Vachon are co-chairing the grant work.  First event will be held May 23rd, 6-8 pm at Lakes Region Mental Health Center; an Open House & Art Show for LRMHC.  Mayor Hosmer will give an address at 7 pm on “Importance of Community.” Beth will reach out to Andrew about his message and will see if Maggie could also speak on behalf of LRMHC about this topic.  There was discussion regarding increasing awareness of the grant, mission of the grant, Laconia Human Relations work, etc.  Opportunity to learn about mental health services, see art, be in an inclusive space and social interaction.  It was suggested that there be opportunity for people when they arrive to write down – “One thing I would change about my Community is….” and to display these ideas as artwork (perhaps take a photo and submit to paper for additional grant promotion).  Future events encouraged to have intentional communication that leads to trust building ie. round table discussions.  Planning for 100 people. Requesting $500 of the grant funding towards food. This will be voted on at next LHRC meeting.  Invite youth to next meeting to explore a youth driven event.
