passed unanimously.
Sub-Committee Work:
Martin Luther King Jr Celebration (Patrick reported for Judith)
The event is shaping up nicely; anticipated cost is a little more than
last year’s event. Fundraising is being discussed. Perhaps the NH
Endowment funds can be used if there is an emphasis on social
interaction/discussion.
Speaker will talk for a ½ hour; there will be a clip from the movie.
Full film showing at the Laconia Library before and after (1 ½ hours
in length)
Approach Concord Hospital/Laconia to see if they would be a
sponsor.
Motion was made by David Osman, seconded by Matt Soza, to
appropriate, the sum of not more than $3,225.00, from the NH
Endowment for Health grant to pay the rental costs of the Colonial
Theater and other expenses for the 2025 MLK Event, with the
understanding that there shall be attempts to raise the necessary
funds from other sources, and provided that the NH Endowment for
Health grant committee agrees with this expenditure from the grant.
Endowment for Health Grant (Heather reported)
Next meeting is scheduled for July 11 at 3pm.
Will discuss MLK Jr event and under what circumstances may be
able to appropriate monies.
Carrie will work on an outline for grant consideration.
Banner Proposal (Patrick reported)
City Council has taken no further action.
Carrie will approach the Opera House to see if they would consider
next June hanging the pride banner our committee originally
purchased for City Hall.
Patrick asked the committee to think about how to deal with anti-
LGBTQ+ behavior; to have a more inclusive community.
Vigil/Signage (Matt reported)
One more vigil is planned in cooler weather – to be determined.
Positive messaging is key.
Vision & Mission Statement Review
Patrick will work with David on reviewing our current statements for
any proposed changes.
Multicultural Festival (David Stamps reported)
We have lots of sponsors and supporters
We have only ½ of the vendors in past years (22 last year / 11
currently)
o What is contributing to this?
Need to start earlier
What can our committee do to help?

Sub-Committee Work:
Martin Luther King Jr Celebration (Patrick reported for Judith)
• Committee met – will explore asking NH native Dr. Larry Benaquist,

“Lost Boundaries” (1949). A black man who practiced medicine in
Keene while being perceived as white.

Endowment for Health (Heather reported)
• First event held at Lakes Region Mental Health Annual Art show
fundraiser • There was newspaper and radio advertising related to
the grant • A few comments were gathered by participants:
o “What would you want more information about?”
o “What change would you like to see in your
Community?”
• Mayor Hosmer – gave a heartfelt address about the struggles of
mental health and the importance of community.
• Organizations who receive grant funding may benefit from a
framework to outline future events to work within the grant intention
to foster trust-building around difficult topics through community
interaction/engagement. Carrie will work on this.
• Round tables encouraged.
• Patrick will reach out to others who have received grant funding to
see how they are strategizing around this.
1
Banner Proposal (Patrick reported)
• City Council voted to separate the flag policy from banner policy.
• Policies to be forwarded to Insurance company for review – and
then the Government Operations Committee; then hopefully the
banner policy subcommittee for collaboration.

one negative comment.
• Kay has a friend who can help with future signage.
• Do one more rally before fall.
• Richard’s letter was not published because it contained PSA
information. We appreciate Richard writing the letter and will know
