I LACONIA AIRPORT AUTHORITY 65 AVIATION DRIVE, GILFORD, NH 03249 (603) 524-5003  FAX (603)528-0428 www.laconiaairport.com RECORD OF MEETING Thursday, May 16, 2019, 4:00 pm Airport Terminal Conference Room Present: Chairman, Ed Engler; Treasurer, William Moran; Authority Member, Dale Crumb; Authority Member, Bob Glendening; Authority Member, Eric Tierno; County Commissioner, David DeVoy; Gilford Selectman, Dale Chan Eddy Absent: Vice Chairman, Karmen Gifford; Authority Member, Paul Gaudet, Jr. Guests present: John Gorham, Jacobs; Lee Avery, Sky Bright; Drew Gillett Meeting Minutes: Chairman Engler opened the meeting at 4:00 pm, noting that there were seven board members present, constituting a quorum. I. The Chair recognized new member, Eric Tierno, and returning member, Mr. Glendening who was appointed for a second term. II. Action on approval of meeting minutes: A. Approval of the March 21, 2019 meeting minutes Without objection, the Chair declared the minutes of the March 21, 2019 meeting approved as submitted by the recording secretary. III. Public Input: There was none. IV. Finance Report: A. A general discussion ensued regarding the current status of the ordinary income and expense, the Aviation Improvement Plan, and the Local Improvement Plan. IV. Operations Report: A. Wings, Water, Wheels (“Touch-a-Vehicle) event is set to be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 – this coming Saturday – 10am to 2pm. B. Runway 26 Precision Approach Path Indicator lights (PAPIs) still are not functioning; we have been waiting for the ground to thaw. The intention is to have them back on line within the next month.  II C. The seasonal mowing of the edges of the runway and taxiways began today. V. Old Business: A. AIP Projects Update – Mr. Gorham gave a report regarding the Taxiway E Extension Project; the pre-construction meeting is scheduled for May 22, with construction to begin on June 6. - The Environmental Assessment Project has reached the Final Draft stage and is being reviewed by the NHDOT Bureau of Aeronautics. B. A discussion ensued regarding a proposal for a design of a sign for the airport, resulting in a consensus to move forward in pursuit of the proposed design. VI. New Business: A. Election of LAA officers – the Chair gave a reminder of the responsibility of electing individuals on the Authority annually to serve as officers, resulting in the following motion: MOTION: Upon a motion by Mr. Tierno, seconded by Mr. DeVoy, the following individuals were elected to serve as officers of the Laconia Airport Authority by a vote of seven (7) “yes”, and zero (0) “no”: Chairman – Mayor Edward Engler Vice Chairman – Dale Chan Eddy Treasurer – William Moran Clerk – Robert Glendening VII.
