MINUTES: August minutes had been approved as submitted. FINANCIALS: Linda Peary did receive her first printout of the financials for the start of the new fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023, this month. They are as follows: Carry over from 6/30/23 $33,104.81 Allotment 07/1/23 thru 6/30/24 $46,600.00 Total available thru 6/30/24 $79,704.81 Less the Michael Jackson Program scheduled for October 26, 2023, and author Alex Prud’homme on October 14, 2023, to be held at the Opera House. Jim reached out to Spectacle for final adjustments and has not yet heard back from them. Betty will reach out to Julie for the promotional information. The show is scheduled for October 26, 2023. Alex Prud’homme, Author of “Dinner with the Presidents”, to be held at Lakeport Opera House on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 7:00 pm inclusive to follow a Dessert & Champagne gathering. This program is being co-sponsored with the Laconia Library who has approved the expense of renting the Opera House and lead by the Laconia Daily Sun. Chairperson Jim did attend the library’s meeting in support of Adam at the Daily Sun. More details to follow. PROPOSED PROGRAMS: Currently we have three days available and have not yet filled any slots. The dates are November 5, November 15 and December 20th. Updates as follows: Veronica Lewis – Blues Performance scheduled for November 5 has been cancelled. She will be focusing on writing and resting. We expect to ask for her to perform for us in 2024. The Love Dogs: They cannot have their entire band perform for us on the dates mentioned above. Our intention will be for all of us to secure a date and performance in 2024. The Rockin Daddios: Many of the members have show engagements and will not collectively perform in any of the three dates mentioned above. Betty received a pamphlet listing many shows being performed in Southern NH and Massachusetts by Rachel & Andre Nadeau, Laconia residents who attend many of our performances. They wish for us to secure shows they expressed an interest in. Such as: The Beach Boys Review, Mamma Mia – It’s ABBA, a Smoking and Rocking Christmas – Dolly & Kenny, and Bobby Darren Tribute. Linda received a request for Mike Super, a magician & illusionist. Betty is to contact Julie Grant in hopes of securing one or more of these programs within budget and dates available. We discussed a 60’s show Michael was promoting although it was noted the Colonial was having a 60’s show on Saturday, October 14 which is far too close for a Coasters, Platter’s and Drifter’s show on November 5th, therefore we will not pursue that show at this time. MISCELLANEOUS: None With no further business to come before the board, the meeting was adjourned at 9:48 am. Respectfully submitted, Betty Ballantyne Putnam Secretary 603-630-553
