Laconia Putnam Meeting Tuesday, October 10, 2023 This meeting was called to order on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 9:00 am held at Laconia City Hall, 25 Beacon Street E, #1, Laconia, NH 03246 with the following in attendance: Jim Rogato, Joan Mercer, Linda Peary, and Betty Ballantyne. MINUTES: The September minutes is approved by the board as submitted. TREASURER’S REPORT: Effective October 10, 2023, our expenditures totaled $8,750 and the available funds to the Putnam Trust are $76,704.81. UPDATE OF ALEX PRUD’HOMME AUTHOR: Dinner With the Presidents - The program is all set per our conversations with Adam Hirshan, Publisher of the Laconia Daily Sun. It is a partnership with The Sun and the Laconia Library. The library provided the funding for the facility at The Lakeport Opera House. Annie’s Catering will be providing the desserts as a donation toward this event. We provided the monies for the author’s lecture. The Board Members will be ushering the event. Jim will be the MC for the Program. UPDATE OF MICHAEL JACKSON TRIBUTE: The program is all set to go. The show will be on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the Laconia Colonial Theater to begin at 7:00 pm. We sold out 780 tickets. We added thirty additional tickets in hope of covering the attrition rate and filling the entire 750 seats. Hotel rooms are secured. The Colonial will provide drinks for the artists. Julie, our agent, will not be attending due to hip surgery and Michael of Michael Yorkell Productions will be present at this performance. OLD NEWS: Jacob Crumb is notified we elected to cancel November and December’s date held at the Laconia Colonial Theater. Regarding Veronica Lewis, an NH artist, Linda has been in contact with her agent still expressing our desire to have her perform for Putnam in 2024. NEW BUSINESS: Jacob Crumb of the Laconia Colonial did forward a list to Linda of available dates for 2024. They are as follows: Friday, April 5, 2024, Sunday, September 8th, Thursday, October 17 and Friday, November 15th. We conversed regarding the Rockin Daddios be considered for the April 5th date. Jim did abstain from voting to have the Daddios, although the remainder of the board made a request for Jim to reach out to the agent and the group for the date availability of April 5th. MISCELLANEOUS: We are still in wait for a new Putnam Board Member. With no further business to come before the board, the meeting was adjourned at 9:42 am.
