CITY OF LACONIA SPECIAL EVENTS/LICENSING NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOVEMBER 4, 2015 12 NOON CONFERENCE ROOM 200A APPROVED MEETING OF DECEMBER 2, 2015 Jim Rogato called the meeting to order at noon. He did the Roll Call, mentioning Ken Erickson (Fire), Matt Canfield (Police) for Licensing. For Special Events we had Bernie Swan (DPW), Kevin Dunleavy (Parks), Shanna Saunders (Planning), Ken Erickson (For Charlie Roffo – Fire), Matt Canfield, and Hilary Young. Licensing Review: OUTDOOR LOUDSPEAKER: 1. Salvation Army- Turkey Plunge at Opechee Cove on October 31, 2015 from 10am- 2pm. Motion: K. Erickson moved to approve with the second by M. Canfield. The vote was 3-0 in favor. RAFFLE: 2. Lakes Region Dog Club- Grand Prize: $2000, 2nd Prize: $1000, 3rd Prize: $500; Draw date 2/14/16 3. Knights of Columbus- 50/50 Raffle; Draw date 2/22/16 4. Laconia Rotary Club- 2016 Harley Davidson Street Glide Motorcycle; Draw date 6/19/15 Motion: K. Erickson moved to approve all of the raffles with M. Canfield seconding. All voted in favor of approval, 3-0. TAXI DRIVER’S: 5. Mr. C’s Taxi- Cheryl M Bussiere Motion: K. Erickson moved to approve. M. Canfield seconding, mentioning that there was nothing in the application for concern. All voted in favor, 3-0. Licensing Regular: OUTDOOR LOUDSPEAKER 6. Laconia VFW Post 1670- Veterans Square on 11/11/15 from 10am-1pm. Motion: K. Erickson moved to approve with M. Canfield seconding. All voted in favor, 3-0. Licensing Old Business: None Licensing Minutes: The minutes for the meeting of October 7, 2015 were accepted as written. All voted in favor of acceptance, 3-0. Licensing Adjournment: M. Canfield moved to adjourn the Licensing portion of the meeting. K. Erickson seconded and all voted in favor, 3-0. The Licensing portion of the meeting was adjourned at 12:08 PM. Special Events Special Events New Business: 1. Application # 2015-0124, Pleasant St School Renewal: Parade The parade was actually already held, on October 20. This has been held every year but this is the first year they have submitted the Special Events application. No one had any issues with this and M. Canfield said they were aware of it and were involved. Motion: K. Dunleavy moved to approve the application, with the second by M. Canfield, with the standard conditions of approval and all voted in favor of approval, 5-0. Special Events Old Business: None Special Events Minutes: K. Erickson moved to approve the Special Events minutes with the second by M. Canfield. All voted in favor of approval, 5-0. Special Events Adjournment: K. Dunleavy moved to adjourn the Special Events portion of the meeting with K. Erickson seconding. All voted in favor and the meeting adjourned at 12:10 PM.
