City of Laconia Special Events Technical Review Committee Wednesday, December 1, 2021- 12:00 PM City Hall in the Armand A. Bolduc City Council Chamber 12/1/2021 - Minutes 1. CALL TO ORDER R. Mora called the meeting to order at 12:05 PM 2. ROLL CALL Present: A. Lovisek, Parks & Recreation; Capt. M. Finogle, Laconia Police Department; R. Mora, Assistant Planner; Joe Gray, Building Official 3. RECORDING SECRETARY K. Santoro, Zoning Technician 4. STAFF IN ATTENDANCE R. Mora, Assistant Planner 5. ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETINGS 5.1. October 6, 2021 Special Events Technical Review Committee Minutes (PDF) Minutes of October 6, 2021 were accepted as presented. 6. PUBLIC HEARINGS, POSSIBLE CONSIDERATION AND VOTE Note: The Purpose Of This Agenda Section Is For The Board To Have A Presentation From The Applicant And Open A Public Hearing For The Public To Provide Input. The Board May Also Deliberate The Application, Decide And Conduct A Final Vote At This Time. 6.1. PL2021-0142SE Dragon Boat Festival (PDF) Dr. Scott J. Kalicki, Executive Director of Gilda’s Club New Hampshire outlined the application for the 2022 Dragon Boat Festival, to be held the last Saturday in September. He informed the committee that it is the hope that the event will continue to grow. Next year they are proposing 2-3 food vendors and a DJ to do announcements and provide music between events. At 12:08 PM R. Mora opened the public hearing. At 12:08 PM with no one to speak for or against the application, R. Mora closed the public hearing. The Committee discussed the following approval conditions: No overnight camping; removal of temporary signs; parking fees (meters) are not waived; standard FOG language for food vendors; all aspects of Appendix A & B A. Mora made a motion to approve application PL2021-0142SE Dragon Boat Festival 2022 with the conditions discussed. J. Gray seconded the motion. All in favor (4-0) 7. OTHER BUSINESS No other business. 8. ADJOURNMENT At 12:09 PM R. Mora made a motion to adjourn the meeting. A. Lovisek seconded the motion. All in favor. (4-0)
