I. Call to order
Chair Paul Moynihan called the meeting to order at 2:00 pm and introduced the committee.
Present: Paul Moynihan, Public Works; Tara Baker, Assessing; Brandee Loughlin, Planning; Cliff Jones, Code
Enforcement; Al Graton, Police
Absent: Seth Nuttleman, Water; Charlie Roffo, Fire
Chair Moynihan stated that there were five (5) members present and a quorum was established.

Monkey Trunks
Proposal to install low lumens downcast lighting to the zip line course
Chair Moynihan opened the public hearing at 2:02 pm.
Applicant: Kris Gagnon the General Manager of Monkey Trunks explained the proposal. Last year the zip
lines were installed and this proposal is to mount lights in the trees over the zip lines. The lighting will be
different from the road lighting by only lighting the platform. The electrical lines will be underground.
The pictures supplied with the application shows the lighting in detail.
B. Loughlin asked what the hours of operation and was told 9 am to 11 pm. C. Jones met with the
applicant onsite and the lighting will not damage the trees.
There were no abutters to comment. K. Gagnon mentioned that he and an abutter had discussed the
proposal for clarification.

B. Loughlin suggested Deputy Roffo’s comments be a condition of approval. C. Jones stated the wires
will go up the back side of the tree and K. Gagnon noted the conduit will be banded to the tree with
blocks.
Chair Moynihan closed the public hearing at 2:08 pm.
B. Loughlin made the motion to approve the additional lighting with conditions that the hours remain
and lighting must remain in compliance with the site plan regs. C. Jones seconded the motion. The
motion passed unanimously 4-0.

Proposal to change the existing retail use to a place of worship
Chair Moynihan opened the public hearing at 2:10 pm
Applicant: Rob Turpin of Misiaszek and Turpin explained the project. He is new to the project and handed
out some floor and architectural plans. The new space is formerly Goodwill. Nothing will happen to the
exterior or the site. There are unmarked parking spaces in the rear of the building which will be continued
to use. Eventually the signage will be modified.
Al Graton came in at 2:12 pm.
The occupancy is for about 200 to 225 persons in the sanctuary and there is a small reception space and
some small classrooms. The primary means of egress will not be changing.
B. Loughlin asked if the applicant had spoken with the Fire Dept about the comment regarding the
sprinklers and alarm system and R. Turpin will speak with Charlie Roffo further about that.
C. Jones asked if the restrooms will be ADA and was told yes. On the Beacon West side of the building is
an existing ramp that will be taken care of for ADA compliance.
There was no one from the public to comment.

Chair Moynihan stated no site security would be needed unless site work done.
B. Loughlin asked if there was a dumpster and noted that will need to be fenced.
B. Loughlin made the motion to approve the change of use to a place of worship with the conditions
that any dumpster needs to be screened, the applicant continue to work with the Fire Dept regarding
the sprinklers and fire alarm. T. Baker seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously 5-0.

V. Minutes
Adoption of minutes from April 27, 2016
Chair Moynihan confirmed that the revised minutes of April 27 were accepted.
VI. Adjournment
B. Loughlin made the motion to adjourn. T. Baker seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously 5-0.
