BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES May 22, 2012 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Norm Childress and Ron Shriner. Absent: Tilara McDonald-Treece Ed Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mr. Childress moved for approval of the minutes from the May 15, 2012 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. BIDS UNDER ADVISEMENT Quiet Zone President Henriott stated that this item will remain under advisement. 2012 CDBG Sidewalk Replacement Project Phases I & II President Henriott stated that this item will remain under advisement. NEW BUSINESS Economic Development Permission to Advertise-Rehabilitation for 3728 Navarre Court Jennie Peterson, Economic Development, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Permission to Advertise for the Rehabilitation for 3728 Navarre Court. The publications will run on May 24 & May 31, 2012 with the bid opening held on June 12, 2012. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Permission to Advertise-New Construction for 1618 N. 27th Street Ms. Peterson presented to the Board and recommended approval for a Permission to Advertise for the New Construction for 1618 N. 27th Street. The publications will run on May 24 & May 31, 2012 with the bid opening held on June 12, 2012. Mr. Childress moved for approval Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed Board of Public Works and Safety May 22, 2012 Page 2 Purchasing Declaration of Surplus Property-Human Resources Rick Morrissey, Purchasing Manager, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Surplus Property for Human Resources. The surplus item includes one (1) IBM Wheelwriter 6 / Series II, IBM 6784 Typewriter, Serial # 13569000654411. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Mike Jones, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $3,070,519.91. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. MISCELLANOUS Event Street Closure Request-Graduation Party –Aaron Brown President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of an Event Street Closure request for a Graduation Party-Aaron Brown to be held on May 27, 2012 from 7:00am-12midnight at Riehle Plaza. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Taxicab Permit Chief Roush presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Taxicab Permit for Tamara L. Gallien. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. PUBLIC COMMENT There being no further business to come before the Board, President Henriott stated the meeting was adjourned.
