BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES July 17, 2012 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Ron Shriner, Tilara McDonald-Treece and Norm Childress. Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Murray moved for approval of the minutes from the July 10, 2012 regular meeting. Mrs. McDonald- Treece seconded. Passed. BIDS UNDER ADVISEMENT Lafayette ATMS Integration-South Street/Sagamore Pkwy President Henriott stated that this item will remain under advisement. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Additional Services #3-North Street Reconstruction and Integrated Stormwater Management Bob Foley, Engineering, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Additional Services #3 for North Street Reconstruction and Integrated Stormwater Management with Williams Creek Consulting for construction inspection. The contract is in the amount not to exceed $186,300.00 with project expenses in the amount not to exceed $18,300.00 which brings the final contract amount not to exceed $204,600.00. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. McDonald-Treece seconded. Passed. Purchasing Declaration of Worthless Property-Information Tehcnology Rick Morrissey, Purchasing Manager, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Worthless Property for Information Technology. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Community Development Release of Mortgage-320 Washington Street, Lafayette Indiana Valerie Oakley, Community Development, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Release of Mortgage for 320 Washington Street, Lafayette, Indiana. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. McDonald-Treece seconded. Passed. Release of Covenant for Deed Restrictions-320 Washington Street, Lafayette Indiana Mrs. Oakley presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Release of Covenant for Deed Restrictions for 320 Washington Street, Lafayette, Indiana. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Mike Jones, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $2,616,015.44. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mrs. McDonald-Treece seconded. Passed. ANNOUNCEMENTS Autumn Livengood, Awaken the Dream Production Representative, announced that Mayor Roswarski gave permission for the production company to film in the alleys that run parallel to Main Street. The filming will be held on July 29, July 31, August 1, and August 5, 2012 during the day. The production company is making a film to raise awareness on human trafficking. There being no further business to come before the Board, President Henriott stated the meeting was adjourned.
