BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES December 10, 2013 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Norm Childress, Dawn Ross and Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mr. Childress moved for approval of the minutes from the December 3, 2013 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Subdivision Variance-Bob Rohrman Subdivision Bob Foley, Engineering Office, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Subdivision Variance for the Bob Rohrman Subdivision. Mr. Foley stated that Mr. Rohrman is required to construct a cul-de-sac turnaround at the west end of Britt Farm Drive. The variance is to wave the required cul-de- sac. Mr. Foley recommended placing appropriate signage at the end of the street. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Supplemental Agreement #3-Durkees Run Guaranteed Savings Contract/Technical Assistance Jenny Leshney, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Supplemental Agreement #3 for Technical Assistant for Durkees Run Guaranteed Savings Contract with Butler, Fairman & Seufert. The supplement includes additional part time construction inspection from Phase 2B and any budget remaining from Phase 2B will shift to Phase 2C. It also includes shifting some of the effort that was not needed in the right-of-entry into effort to acquire parcels for Phase 2B and Phase 2C. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Community Development CDBG Agreement between the City of Lafayette and YWCA of Greater Lafayette Domestic Violence Intervention and Prevention 2013 Jennie Peterson, Community Development, presented to the Board and recommended approval of CDBG Agreement between the City of Lafayette and YWCA of Greater Lafayette Domestic Violence Intervention and Prevention 2013. The agreement is in the amount of $7,138.00 for 2013 Program Year. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety December 10, 2013 Page 2 CLAIMS Mike Jones, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $766,336.84. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions other than the ones that were asked and answered in caucus. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed MISCELLANEOUS Event Street Closure Request-St. Elizabeth Central President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of an Event Street Closure Request for St. Elizabeth to be held on December 27 & 30 from 7:00am-2:00pm both days. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. ANNOUNCEMENTS Chief Doyle, Lafayette Fire Department, announced that a promotion ceremony for Ryan Altman to Lieutenant and Jason Clark to Training Captain immediately following the Board of Works meeting today.
