BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES January 14, 2014 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Norm Childress, Dawn Ross and Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mr. Childress moved for approval of the minutes from the January 7, 2014 regular meeting. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. BID OPENING 100’ Rear Mount Aerial Platform This being the time set to open bids for the 100’ Rear Mount Aerial Platform, the following bids were received and opened: Mid America Fire & Safety, LLC Evansville, Indiana Base Bid: $1,049,429.00 Pierce Manufacturing Appleton, Wisconsin Base Bid: $1,075,216.00 Donley Safety Indianapolis, Indiana Base Bid: $1,063,989.00 Sentinel Emergency Solutions Freeburg, Illinois * Sent a letter indicating no bid Mr. Shriner moved to take the bids under advisement for further review. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety January 14, 2014 Page 2 NEW BUSINESS Purchasing Permission to Advertise-Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Bisulfite & Hydrochloric Acid Rick Morrissey, Purchasing Manager, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Permission to Advertise the Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Bisulfite & Hydrochloric Acid bid. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Permission to Participate-With West Lafayette for Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Bisulfite & Hydrochloric Mr. Morrissey presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Permission to Participate with West Lafayette for Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Bisulfite & Hydrochloric Acid bid due to West Lafayette using the same chemicals. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed.
