BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES October 21, 2014 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Dawn Ross, Ron Shriner and Norm Childress. Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mr. Childress moved for approval of the minutes from the October 14, 2014 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Recommendation for Award- Prange Drive Curb and Gutter Replacement Project Jenny Leshney, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Recommendation for Award for Prange Drive Curb and Gutter Replacement Project with Rieth-Riley with the base bid in the amount of $71,285.00 and an alternate bid in the amount of $62,378.00 for a total of $133,663.00. Mr. Shiner moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Contract- Prange Drive Curb and Gutter Replacement Project Mrs. Leshney presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Contract for Prange Drive Curb and Gutter Replacement Project. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Notice to Proceed- Prange Drive Curb and Gutter Replacement Project Mrs. Leshney presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Notice to Proceed for the Prange Drive Curb and Gutter Replacement Project with a completion date of December 15, 2014. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Once declared as surplus the items will be sold to an interested party. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Mike Jones, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $3,797,639.25. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed.
