BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES December 2, 2014 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray and Norm Childress. Absent: Dawn Ross and Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mr. Childress moved for approval of the minutes from the November 25, 2014 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Water Pollution Control Amendment #1-Durkees Run Sewer Rehab Project Brad Talley, Water Pollution Control Superintendent, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Amendment #1-Durkees Run Sewer Rehab Project. This amendment addresses the rehabilitation for over 9,000 feet of 36-inch to 48-inch sewer and the assessment and rehabilitation of the associated manholes. This is the final phase for the project that is outlined in the City’s CSO Long Term Control Plan. Construction of this phase is scheduled to begin in early 2015 and to be complete by the end of 2015. Greely and Hansen will provide the Engineering Services in this contract in the amount not to exceed $117,800.00. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Mike Jones, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $3,190,607.92. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. ANNOUNCEMENTS Deputy Fire Chief Steve Butram invited the Board to attend the dedication of the new Aerial Platform Fire Truck on December 5, 2014 at 12:00noon at Station 3 at the corner of 18th Street and South Street.
