BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES December 9, 2014 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Norm Childress, Dawn Ross and Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mr. Childress moved for approval of the minutes from the December 2, 2014 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Addendum #6-Stone’s Crossing Subdivision Bob Foley, Engineering Office, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Addendum #6 for Stone’s Crossing Subdivision for Utility Service Concord Road LLC. This addendum is for Section 4, Phase 2 Lots 205-257, and 359-366 20.25 +/- acres. This is located east of The Commons that connects The Commons with the existing Stone’s Crossing. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Legal Counsel Agreement for Animal Sheltering and Disposal with Almost Home Humane Society Jacque Chosnek presented to the Board and recommended approval of an Agreement for Animal Sheltering and Disposal with Almost Home Humane Society. This is a new 2-year agreement from January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2016. This reflects a 10% increase for 2015 for an annual amount of $165,000.00 and an additional 10% increase for 2016 for an annual amount of $181,500.00. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Mike Jones, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $609,667.98. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety December 9, 2014 Page 2 ANNOUNCEMENTS Dennis Carson, Economic Development Director, introduced Kara Bishop as the new Communications Director who will be in charge of Social Media, Marketing and Public Relations. Kara Bishop stated that she previously worked at the Journal & Courier for 10 years, knows a lot about the Lafayette community, very involved in Social Media and different community organizations. Mrs. Murray thanked everyone that had a hand in the organization and running of the 2014 Christmas Parade past weekend. It was a success!
