BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES January 27, 2015 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Norm Childress, Dawn Ross and Ron Shriner Ed Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mr. Childress moved for approval of the minutes from the January 20, 2015 regular meeting. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Permission to Advertise-Pedestrian Ramp Construction at Myers and Riehle Plaza Bridges Jenny Leshney, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Permission to Advertise the Pedestrian Ramp Construction at Myers and Riehle Plaza Bridges. The bid opening is set for March 17, 2015 with the project due to be completed in November 2015. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Supplemental Agreement #1-US 52 and CR 450 E Intersection and Signalization Mrs. Leshney presented to the Board and recommended approval of Supplemental Agreement #1 for US 52 and CR 450 E Intersection and Signalization. The agreement is for additional effort in the traffic study for collecting turning movements, forecasting traffic for Nanshan and nearby plant expansion, and capacity analysis for Veteran’s Memorial Parkway and Nanshan Driveway intersections. The supplement increases the amount of the original agreement by $8,000.00. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Community Development Professional Services Contract-5 Year Consolidated Plan Aimee Jacobsen, Community Development Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Professional Services Contract 5 Year Consolidated Plan with City Consultants and Research. The contract is for the development of the Lafayette-West Lafayette Consolidated Plan for 2015-2019, the Lafayette and West Lafayette’s 2015 Action Plans and the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing. The City of Lafayette’s share of the total cost is not to exceed $10,260.00 which is two-thirds of the project. Discussion Ensued. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety January 27, 2015 Page 2 Professional Services Contract-Technical Assistance Mrs. Jacobsen presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Professional Services Contract Technical Assistance with City Consultants and Research. The contract is for consulting services to assist Community Development staff with CDBG and HOME program compliance. The total cost for the City of Lafayette is not to exceed $7,300.00. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Mike Jones, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $4,184,490.06. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed.
