BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES January 20, 2015 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Norm Childress and Dawn Ross. Absent: Ron Shriner and Cindy Murray Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mr. Childress moved for approval of the minutes from the January 13, 2015 regular meeting. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. OLD BUSINESS Notice to Proceed- Durkees Run Interceptor Project Phase 4 (Tabled 1/13/2015) Mrs. Ross moved to remove this item from the Agenda. Mr. Childress seconded. Removed. NEW BUSINESS Community Development Release of Covenant for Deed Restrictions-3219 Townsend Aimee Jacobsen, Community Development Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Release of Covenant for Deed Restrictions for 3219 Townsend for Alec Luther Maxwell. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Release of Covenant for Deed Restrictions-112 Wise Mrs. Jacobsen presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Release of Mortgage for 112 Wise for Valentin Salazar and Maria Salazar. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Release of Covenant for Deed Restrictions-120 Wise Mrs. Jacobsen presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Release of Mortgage for 120 Wise for Glyda Nicole Bader. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Release of Covenant for Deed Restrictions-124 Wise Mrs. Jacobsen presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Release of Mortgage for 124 Wise for Yvonne Long. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety January 20, 2015 Page 2 Release of Covenant for Deed Restrictions-3218 Turnbull Mrs. Jacobsen presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Release of Mortgage for 3218 Turnbull for Cindy L. Cyr. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Assumption Agreement between Lafayette Housing Consortium and Havilah II, LLC for 17-19 Park Avenue Mrs. Jacobsen presented to the Board and recommended approval of an Assumption Agreement between the Lafayette Housing Consortium and Havilah II, LLC for 17-19 Park Avenue. This assumption agreement documents the HOME rental requirements for the remainder of the affordability period for the property. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Purchasing Declaration of Worthless Property-Police Department Rick Morrissey, Purchasing Manager, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Worthless Property for the Police Department that include one (1) security safe and four (4) storage cages. The equipment has served its useful life and is not in use. The age of all the items is fully depreciated and has no value. Once declared as worthless property, the safe will be donated to Haley’s Lock, Safe and Key and the cages will be taken to Oscar Winski for disposal. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Declaration of Worthless Property-Controller’s Office Mr. Morrissey presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Worthless Property for the Controller’s Office that includes a Check Signer (Martin Yale 911). This item is no longer in use and has served its useful life. Once declared as worthless property, it will be disposed of through the eRecycling program at Oscar Winski. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Mike Jones, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $1,659,290.15. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. MISCELLANEOUS Taxi Cab Permits Police Chief, Pat Flannelly, presented to the Board and recommended approval of taxi cab permits for the following individuals: Michael Lee, Robert Lanoue, Heather Ann Hester, Benjamin Paul Paxton, Ernestine Engle, Lester Chaney, Jerry Heath, Floyd Idle, Gary Barker, Jeffery Foltz, John Richard Prewitt III, Michael Riley, Charles Jackson III, Hutch Davis, Marvin Sparger, April Renee Hester, Saroyan Fred Hester and Rodney Dwayne Hester. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed.
