BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES September 22, 2015 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Dawn Ross, Ron Shriner and Norm Childress. Absent: Cindy Murray and Gary Henriott Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. Norm Childress called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Ross moved for approval of the minutes from the September 15, 2015 regular meeting. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. BIDS UNDER ADVISEMENT Pedestrian Ramp Construction at Myers & Riehle Plaza Bridges Mr. Childress stated that this item will remain under advisement. NEW BUSINESS Economic Development Amendment #1-Permission to Advertise-2015 CDBG Sidewalk Replacement Project Dan Walker, Economic Development, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Amendment #1 for the Permission to Advertise the 2015 CDBG Sidewalk Replacement Project. The amendment changes the bid opening date from October 22, 2015 to October 27, 2015. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Paula King, Controller’s Office, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $3,134,241.05. Mr. Childress asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. MISCELLANEOUS Special Event Request-Purdue Men’s Basketball Meet & Greet Mr. Childress presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the Purdue Men’s Basketball Meet and Greet to be held on October 2, 2015 from 5pm-8:30pm at Riehle Plaza. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety September 22, 2015 Page 2 Amendment #1-Special Event Request for the Zombie Stomp Julie Pope, Event Representative, presented to the Board and recommended approval of an Amendment #1 for the Special Event Request for the Zombie Stomp. Mrs. Pope stated the amendment changes the location of the event from the Myers Bridge to be held on Main Street from 5th Street to the Big Four Depot. The event will be held on October 31, 2015 from 4pm-7pm. Mrs. Pope gave the Board a brief description of the details of the event and the Hartford House. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed.
