BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES September 29, 2015 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Cindy Murray, Ron Shriner and Norm Childress. Absent: Gary Henriott and Dawn Ross Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. Cindy Murray called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mr. Childress moved for approval of the minutes from the September 22, 2015 regular meeting. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. QUOTE OPENING Greenbush Street Sewer Extension This being the time set to open quotes for the Greenbush Street Sewer Extension, the following quotes were received and opened: Bowen Engineering Indianapolis, Indiana Quote: $3,593,000.00 Mr. Shriner moved to take the quote under advisement for further review. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. 2015 Fall Tree Planting Plan This being the time set to open quotes for the 2015 Fall Tree Planting Plan, the following quotes were received and opened: No quotes were received. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Recommendation for Award- Pedestrian Ramp Construction at Myers & Riehle Plaza Bridges Jenny Leshney, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Recommendation for Award for the Pedestrian Ramp Construction at Myers & Riehle Plaza Bridges with Yates Construction in the amount of $884,685.73. Mrs. Leshney stated work will begin on October 30, 2015 and conclude on June 15, 2016. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety September 29, 2015 Page 2 Construction Agreement with CSX Transportation for Riehle Plaza Pedestrian Ramp Construction and Rehabilitation Mrs. Leshney presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Construction Agreement with CSX Transportation for Riehle Plaza Pedestrian Ramp Construction and Rehabilitation. The agreement is for flagging and in the amount of $121,180.00 with CSX Transportation. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Clerk’s Office 2016 Holiday Schedule Mrs. Murray presented to the Board and recommended approval of the 2016 Holiday Schedule. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Paula King, Controller’s Office, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $2,416,140.37. Mrs. Murray asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. MISCELLANEOUS Special Event Request-Light Up Riehle Plaza/YWCA Women’s Cancer Program Mrs. Murray presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the Light Up Riehle Plaza to be held on October 6, 2015 from 6pm-7pm at Riehle Plaza. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed.
