BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES December 13, 2016 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Norm Childress and Dawn Ross. Absent: Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Ross moved for approval of the minutes from the December 6, 2016 regular meeting. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. OLD BUSINESS Water Tower Lease Agreement with GTE Mobilnet of Indiana (Tabled 12/6/2016) President Henriott stated that this item will remain tabled. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Change Order #3-Beckenham Trail Bob Foley, Engineering, presented to the Board and recommended approval for Change Order #3 for Beckenham Trail. The change order is a decrease in the amount of $11,875.00 which includes placing seed instead of sod along trail in disturbed areas. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Controller Resolution 06-2016 A Resolution Approving the Detail of the 2017 Water and Wastewater Department Budgets Mike Jones, Controller, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Resolution 06-2016 A Resolution Approving the Detail of the 2017 Water and Wastewater Department. Mr. Jones stated all employees will receive a 3% salary increase with health insurance rates increased 9% and other raises for positions that require professional credentials and or Department Heads that did increase by 5%. Mr. Jones presented the Water Works Utility Budget for 2017 is in the amount of $8,011,820.00 which reflects a decrease of 5.25% from the 2016 budget. Mr. Jones presented the WPCD Utility Budget for 2017 is in the amount of $33,387,776.00.The overall budget for Water Pollution control (WPCD) has an increase of 1.46% from 2016 budget. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed.
