BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES January 10, 2017 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Norm Childress and Dawn Ross. Absent: Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Murray moved for approval of the minutes from the January 3, 2017 regular meeting. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Permission to Advertise-Sagamore Parkway Reconstruction Phase 3 Jenny Leshney, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Permission to Advertise the Sagamore Parkway Reconstruction Phase 3 Project. The bid opening date is February 7, 2017 with a mandatory pre-bid meeting on January 24, 2017. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. LPA Supplemental #2 Agreement with TBird Designs for South Street and Scott/Park Street Pedestrian Crossing Improvements Mrs. Leshney presented to the Board and recommended approval of the LPA Supplemental #2 Agreement with TBird Designs for South Street and Scott/Park Street Pedestrian Crossing Improvements. This is related to having to wait so long between design and construction because of funding through INDOT. The supplement is in the amount of $5,000.00 for topographic survey data collection, environmental document preparation and additional paving. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Agreement for Professional Services with TBird Designs-2017 General On-Call Services Mrs. Leshney presented to the Board and recommended approval of an agreement for Professional Services with TBird Designs for 2017 General On-Call Services Agreement. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety January 10, 2017 Page 2 Task Order #1-ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey & Phase I Environmental Assessment-CAT Property Mrs. Leshney presented to the Board and recommended approval of Task Order #1 for Land Title Survey & Phase I Environmental Assessment for the CAT Property that the City of Lafayette is purchasing. This is in the amount not-to-exceed $16,400.00 under the 2017 General On-Call Services contract. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Economic Development LPA Agreement with BFS for Community Wide Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Education/Awareness Program Margy Deverall, Economic Development, presented to the Board and recommended approval of an LPA Agreement with Butler, Fairman & Seufert for Community Wide Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Education/Awareness Program in the amount of $42,700.00. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Purchasing Permission to Advertise-Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Bisulfite, Phosphorus Chemicals & Hydrochloric Acid Rick Morrissey, Purchasing Manager, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Permission to Advertise the Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Bisulfite, Phosphorus Chemicals & Hydrochloric Acid bid for the WPCD, WW and Parks Departments. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Permission to Participate-Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Bisulfite, Phosphorus Chemicals & Hydrochloric Acid Mr. Morrissey presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Permission to Participate with City of West Lafayette for the the Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Bisulfite, Phosphorus Chemicals & Hydrochloric Acid bid. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Tim Clary, Deputy Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $3,725,180.90. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed.
