BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES May 23, 2017 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Norm Childress, Dawn Ross and Ron Shriner. Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Murray moved for approval of the minutes from the May 16, 2017 regular meeting. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Permission to Advertise-24th, 25th and Knight Street Curb, Sidewalk and Ramp Replacement Project Jenny Leshney, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Permission to Advertise the 24th, 25th, and Knight Street Curb, Sidewalk and Ramp Replacement Project. The notice will be advertised on May 26th and June 2nd, 2017 with the bid opening on June 13, 2017. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Lafayette Housing Authority Release of Mortgage-101 S. 6th Street, Lafayette Valerie Oakley, Project Manager, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Release of Mortgage for 101 S. 6th Street. This is a forgivable loan and has satisfied the period of affordability. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Release of Covenant for Deed Restrictions-101 S. 6th Street, Lafayette Mrs. Oakley presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Release of Covenant for Deed Restrictions for 101 S. 6th Street. This is a forgivable loan and has satisfied the period of affordability. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Release of Mortgage-1827 Salem Street, Lafayette Mrs. Oakley presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Release of Mortgage for 1827 Salem Street. This is a forgivable loan and has satisfied the period of affordability. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Release of Grant, Lien, and Restrictive Covenant Agreement-211 Quincey Street, West Lafayette Mrs. Oakley presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Release of Grant, Lien, and Restrictive Covenant Agreement for 221 Quincey Street. This is a forgivable loan and has satisfied the period of affordability. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Release of Mortgage-287 Crum Court, West Lafayette Mrs. Oakley presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Release of Mortgage for 287 Crum Court. This is a forgivable loan and has satisfied the period of affordability. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Release of Grant, Lien, and Restrictive Covenant Agreement-287 Crum Court, West Lafayette Mrs. Oakley presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Release of Grant, Lien, and Restrictive Covenant Agreement for 287 Crum Court. Purchasing Declaration of Surplus Property-Water Works Department Mike Jones, Controller, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Surplus Property for the Water Works Department for a #453 1992 International S2554 Jet Vac Board of Public Works and Safety May 23, 2017 Page 3 1HTGBPCR5NH461234. Mr. Jones stated that this item will be traded in for a new jet truck. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Mr. Jones presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $5,460,814.29. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed.
