BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES August 1, 2017 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Norm Childress, Cindy Murray, Dawn Ross and Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Murray moved for approval of the minutes from the July 25, 2017 regular meeting. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Permission to Advertise-Prairie Lane Watermain Replacement Jenny Leshney, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Permission to Advertise for the Prairie Lane Watermain Replacement Project. The project is set to advertise on August 4th and 11th, 2017 with a bid opening on August 29, 2017. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Lafayette Housing Authority Release of Covenant for Deed Restrictions-3210 Turnbull, Lafayette Valerie Oakley, Project Manager, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Release of Covenant for Deed Restrictions for 3210 Turnbull, Lafayette. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Release of Mortgage-129 E. Oak Street, West Lafayette Mrs. Oakley presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Release of Mortgage for 129 E. Oak Street, West Lafayette. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Amendment #1-2015-2016 Agreement between the Lafayette Housing Consortium and Lafayette Housing Authority-Tenant Based Rental Assistance Program Mrs. Oakley presented to the Board and recommended approval of Amendment #1-2015-2016 Agreement between the Lafayette Housing Consortium and Lafayette Housing Authority-Tenant Based Rental Assistance Program. This amendment extends the ending date of the agreement to December 31, 2017 to Board of Public Works and Safety August 1, 2017 Page 2 include the entire lease term for the last assisted families. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Amendment #1-2016-2017 Agreement between the Lafayette Housing Consortium and Lafayette Housing Authority-Tenant Based Rental Assistance Program Mrs. Oakley presented to the Board and recommended approval of Amendment #1-2016-2017 Agreement between the Lafayette Housing Consortium and Lafayette Housing Authority-Tenant Based Rental Assistance Program. The agreement enables the Housing Authority to provide 12 months of assistance for families through June 20, 2018. Some families will have leases that extend past that date. This amendment extends the ending date to December 31, 2018. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Purchasing Declaration of Surplus Property-Fire Department Deputy Chief Steve Burtram, Fire Department, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Surplus Property for the Fire Department. The surplus list includes the following items: FD6 1996 Simon Duplex Model QS75 75’ Quint, VIN# 1S91F71J8T1020088 FD17 1998 International utility Trailer, VIN# 1280001U014052 5- K5025-N PAC Tools Rescue Saw mounts 5- 5030 PAC Tools Rescue Saw Mounts Deputy Chief Butram stated that all property has served its useful purpose and in no longer needed. The Quint will be sold to a local Volunteer Fire Department, the rescue saw mounts will be sold on GovBids.com and the trailer will be release at a future date. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Mike Jones, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $497,028.77. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed.
