BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES October 10, 2017 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Norm Childress, Cindy Murray, Dawn Ross and Ron Shriner. Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mr. Shriner moved for approval of the minutes from the October 3, 2017 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Addendum #9-Agreement for Utility Service (52 South Industrial Subdivision, Phase 2) Ichiya LLC Bob Foley, Engineering, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Addendum #9 for the Agreement for Utility Service for 52 South Industrial Subdivision, Phase 2- Ichiya LLC. Mr. Foley stated that they have provided a check in the amount of $12,752.00 for Lot 1 in the 52 South Industrial Subdivision. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Lafayette Housing Authority Agreement between Lafayette Housing Consortium and Habitat for Humanity: 2016 Project #3 Wabash Avenue Valerie Oakley, Project Manager, presented to the Board and recommended approval of an Agreement between Lafayette Housing Consortium and Habitat for Humanity: 2016 Project #3 Wabash Avenue. The agreement provides up to $32,000.00 for acquisition, demolition and construction of 1217 Wabash Avenue form Habitat’s 2016 and 2017 HOME awards. The construction will provide an energy-efficient home for a new homeowner and include appropriate infill design features for the neighborhood. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Tim Clary, Deputy Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $458,631.71. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety October 10, 2017 Page 2 ANNOUNCEMENTS Deputy Fire Chief Steve Butram announced to the Board that there will be the public Fire Prevention Show at Jefferson High School on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 6pm. Deputy Chief invited the Board and the public to attend.
