BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES October 17, 2017 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Norm Childress, Cindy Murray, Dawn Ross and Ron Shriner. Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Murray moved for approval of the minutes from the October 10, 2017 regular meeting. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Addendum #4-Utility Service Agreement for Cobblestone Subdivision-Northwest Corner Near Twyckenham Blvd and Poland Hill Road Bob Foley, Engineering, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Addendum #4 for the Utility Service Agreement for Cobblestone-Northwest Corner near Twyckenham Blvd and Poland Hill Road. This addendum includes 12 new residential lots and they have paid their 10% down to establish lot fees. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Addendum #5-Utility Service Agreement for Cobblestone Subdivision-Northwest Corner Near Twyckenham Blvd and Poland Hill Road Mr. Foley presented to the Board and recommended approval of Addendum #5 for the Utility Service Agreement for Cobblestone-Northwest Corner near Twyckenham Blvd and Poland Hill Road. This addendum includes 12 commercial lots made into residential lots. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Police Department Declaration of Worthless Property-Police Department President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Worthless Property for the Police Department. The worthless property includes a Panasonic Typewriter Model: KXE7000 S/N: PJUA53ZB. Once declared worthless it will be thrown away or recycled. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety October 17, 2017 Page 2 CLAIMS Tim Clary, Deputy Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $4,260,810.96. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. MISCELLANEOUS Special Event Request-2017 Christmas Parade Mrs. Murray presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the 2017 Christmas Parade to be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 12:00noon to 8:00pm in Downtown Lafayette. Mrs. Murray stated that the Good Neighbor Letter has been sent out and the Certificate of Insurance is provided. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Special Event Request Addendum #1-Spark Lafayette Event Margy Deverall, Economic Development, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Addendum #1 for the Spark Lafayette Event. This addendum extends the date of activities to October 31, 2017 at Riehle Plaza and the Chase Plaza. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. ANNOUNCEMENTS Mayor Roswarski announced Jeromy Grenard as the new Public Works Director/Engineer for the City of Lafayette. Mayor Roswarski gave a brief description of Mr. Grenard’s professional and personal life and welcomed Mr. Grenard to the team. Mr. Grenard stated that he is privileged to be working in this capacity and looking forward to working with the City. Mayor Roswarski called the Board’s attention to Representative Shelia Klinker at the meeting in support of Mr. Grenard.
