BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES November 21, 2017 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray and Norm Childress. Absent: Dawn Ross and Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Murray moved for approval of the minutes from the November 14, 2017 regular meeting. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Change Order #2-Wabash River Promenade Bob Foley, Engineering, requested that the Board Table this item until next week. Mr. Childress moved to Table this item. Mrs. Murray seconded. Tabled. Certificate of Completion-Pedestrian Ramp Construction at Myers and Riehle Plaza Bridges Mr. Foley presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Certificate of Completion for the Pedestrian Ramp Construction at Myers and Riehle Plaza Bridges. The final contract is in the amount of $868,507.30 with Yates Construction. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Purchasing Declaration of Worthless Property-Water Works Dave Payne, Purchasing Manager, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Worthless Property for the Water Works Department for an Orion TV Serial Number 065430646998B. Mr. Payne stated that the item will be disposed of. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Declaration of Worthless Property-Street Department Mr. Payne presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Worthless Property for the Street Department for the old fabricated trailer that used to be the old Christmas Float. Mr. Payne stated that that item will be scrapped for the metal content. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Mike Jones, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $2,277,102.43. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed.
