BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES January 30, 2018 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Norm Childress and Dawn Ross. Absent: Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mr. Childress moved for approval of the minutes from the January 23, 2018 regular meeting. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. BIDS UNDER ADVISEMENT City Hall Building HVAC Control and Systems Update President Henriott stated that this item will remain under advisement. Prairie Lane Watermain Replacement (Re-Bid) President Henriott stated that this item will remain under advisement. NEW BUSINESS Economic Development Professional Services Agreement-City Consultants and Research Dennis Carson, Economic Development Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Professional Services Agreement with City Consultants and Research for the closeout and monitoring of the neighborhood stabilization program grant from 2011 from IHCDA. The agreement is in the amount of $5,495.00. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Mike Jones, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $2,693,274.01. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety January 30, 2018 Page 2 MISCELLANEOUS Special Event Request-McAllister Center Carriage Rides President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for McAllister Center for Carriage Rides to be held on February 17, 2018 from 5:30pm-8:30pm around the McAllister Center on N. 20th Street. President Henriott stated that the vendor for the carriage rides will need to submit a Certificate of Liability Insurance prior to the event. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed.
