BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES February 13, 2018 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Norm Childress, Ron Shriner and Dawn Ross Absent: Cindy Murray Ed Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mr. Childress moved for approval of the minutes from the February 6, 2018 regular meeting. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Economic Development Notice to Proceed-Bike/Ped Safety/Education/Awareness Program with BFS Margy Deverall, Economic Development, reported to the Board of a Notice to Proceed for the Bike/Pedestrian Safety/Education/Awareness Program with Butler, Fairman & Seufert. Mrs. Deverall stated that INDOT will be giving a Notice to Proceed to BFS to move ahead with Year 2 Activity for the Bike/Ped Safety Plan. Lafayette Renew Significant Industrial User Permit-Tate & Lyle Ingredients Americas, Inc (South Plant) Brian Beeler, Lafayette Renew, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Significant Industrial User Permit for Tate & Lyle Ingredients Americas, Inc (South Plant). Mr. Beeler stated that Tate & Lyle is permitted with the pre-treatment program for a 4 year renewal. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Mike Jones, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $1,200,358.23. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety February 13, 2018 Page 2 MISCELLANEOUS Special Event Request-4th Grade Diversity Program President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the 4th Grade Diversity Program to be held on February 15-16th, 2018 at the Long Center from 9:00am- 3:00pm. The closure of 6th Street is for the moving of school buses and approximately 500 kids. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Taxi CB Permits Brad Bishop, Deputy Chief of Police, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Taxi Cab Permits for Timothy Simpson, Michael Timmons, and Charles Jackson. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed.
