BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES February 27, 2018 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Norm Childress and Dawn Ross. Absent: Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Murray moved for approval of the minutes from the February 20, 2018 regular meeting. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Purchasing Recommendation for Award- Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Bisulfite, Hydrochloric Acid, Ferric Chloride and Sodium Aluminate Dave Payne, Purchasing Manager, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Recommendation for Award- Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Bisulfite, Hydrochloric Acid, Ferric Chloride and Sodium Aluminate to JCI Jones Chemical and Brenntag Mid-South. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Declaration of Surplus Property-Park Maintenance Department Mr. Payne presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Surplus Property for a White 2005 Chevrolet 1500 Pickup Truck VIN #1GCEC19X25Z281580. Mr. Payne stated that it will be sold for scrap. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed Engineering Master Service Agreement-WSP USA, Inc for Engineering Services Jeromy Grenard, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Master Services Agreement with WSP USA, Inc for Engineering Services for 3 years. This master agreement will allow the City of Lafayette to enter into task order assignments without going through a new contract each time. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety February 27, 2018 Page 2 Task Order #1-WSP USA, Inc. for Main Street Drainage Study Mr. Grenard presented to the Board and recommended approval of Task Order #1 for the Main Street Drainage Study with WSP USA, Inc. This task order is for $40, 247.04 and will allow the City of Lafayette to get a good picture of the entire upstream watershed that is contributing to flow down Main Street in downtown. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Tim Clary, Deputy Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $3,811,045.71. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. MISCELLANEOUS Special Event Request-Proclamation for Child Abuse Prevention Month President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the Proclamation for Child Abuse Month to be held on April 2, 2018 from 11am-1:15pm at Riehle Plaza. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Special Event Request-Purdue Boilermaker Half Marathon Don Carr, Tuxedo Brothers, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the Purdue Boilermaker Half Marathon to be held on October 13, 2018 from 8:30am-10:00am in parts of downtown Lafayette. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Taxi Cab Permit Police Chief, Patrick Flannelly, presented to the Board and recommended approval a Taxi Cab Permit for Alan Leming. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed.
