BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES May 29, 2018 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Dawn Ross, Ron Shriner and Norm Childress. Ed Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mr. Childress moved for approval of the minutes from the May 22, 2018 regular meeting. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Professional Services Agreement with TBird Designs-Breckenridge Street Reconstruction (Field Services) Jeromy Grenard, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Professional Services Agreement with TBird Designs for the Breckenridge Street Reconstruction Field Services. The contract is in the amount not-to-exceed $48,000.00. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Permission to Advertise-Manufacturer’s Court New Road Construction Mr. Grenard presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Permission to Advertise for the Manufacturer’s Court New Road Construction to be published on June 1 and June 8, 2018 with a bid opening date of June 26, 2018. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. Fire Department Supplemental Fire Contract for 2018 Fire Chief, Richard Doyle, presented to the Board and recommended approval of the Supplemental Fire Contract for the Furnishing of Fire Protection and Emergency Services to the Unincorporated Area of Fairfield Township. The contract is in the amount of $100,000.00. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety May 29, 2018 Page 2 Purchasing Vehicle Trade-In Authorization Dave Payne, Purchasing Manager, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Vehicle Trade- In Authorization for the Street Department. The vehicles include a 2000 International 4900 Tandem Dump truck Vin#1HTSHAAR0YH265442 and a 2004 GMC C8500 Dump Truck VIN#1GDP8C1344F505202. Mrs. Ross moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Mike Jones, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $3,545,959.00. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mrs. Ross seconded. Passed. MISCELLANEOUS Special Event Request-Summers Maker Market President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of Special Event Request for the Summers Maker Market to be held on August 25, 2018 from 8:00am-2:00pm on 5th Street between Main Street and Ferry Street. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed.
