BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES March 12, 2019 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Norm Childress, Amy Moulton and Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Murray moved for approval of the minutes from the March 5, 2019 regular meeting. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Purchasing Declaration of Worthless Property-Water Works Dave Payne, Purchasing Manager, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Worthless Property for Water Works that includes a 2010 Sharp multi-function printer Model:MX-260N Serial Number:05003481 City Asset#0000027. Mr. Payne stated that this item is beyond repair and will be traded in on a replacement. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Declaration of Worthless Property-IT Department Mr. Payne presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Worthless Property for the IT Department that includes an Apple iMac 21.5” Model:2010 model Serial Number:QP1030RUDNN. Mr. Payne stated that this item is obsolete and will be recycled. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Declaration of Worthless Property-Fire Department Mr. Payne presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Worthless Property for the Fire Department that includes 11 items of tech gear with various makes and models. Mr. Payne stated that these items are obsolete and will be recycled. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Tim Clary, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $757,867.93. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety March 12, 2019 Page 2 MISCELLANEOUS Banner Request-Tippecanoe Child Abuse Prevention Council President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Banner Request for Tippecanoe Child Abuse Prevention Council to be hung on Main Street from April 2-16 for the CASA Program and also on April 16-30, 2019 for Prevent Child Abuse Indiana. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Special Event Request-Purdue Half Marathon President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the Purdue Half Marathon to be held on October 19, 2019 from 8:00am-10:30am through downtown Lafayette. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. Special Event Request-Jeff High School Prom President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the Jeff High School Prom to be held on April 13, 2019 from 6:30pm-8:30pm on Main Street near the Lafayette Theater. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Special Event Request-Lafayette Farmer’s Mini Markets President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the Lafayette Farmer’s Mini Markets to be held on April 20, November 23 and December 7, 2019 for special market events. The closures will be located on 5th Street between Main and Columbia Streets. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Special Event Request-Race for Kids 5K Run/Walk President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the Race for Kids 5K Run/Walk to be held on June 1, 2019 from 8:00am-10:00am located near Franciscan Health East and surrounding streets. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Special Event Request-Bike to Work Day President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for Bike to Work Day to be held on May 17, 2019 from 8:00am-10:00am on the John T. Myers Bridge. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Special Event Request-Beers Across the Wabash President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for Beers Across the Wabash to be held on August 24, 2019 from 8:00am-8:00pm on the John T. Myers Bridge. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded.
