BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES August 20, 2019 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Norm Childress and Amy Moulton. Absent: Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Moulton moved for approval of the minutes from the August 13, 2019 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Contract-Service Area 21 Water & Sewer Extension Phase 1 Jeromy Grenard, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Contract for Service Area 21 Water & Sewer Extension Phase 1 with Atlas Excavating in the amount of $4,303,943.00. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Purchasing Declaration of Surplus Property-Fire Department Dave Payne, Purchasing Manager, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Surplus Property for the Fire Department that includes a list of Amcus Hydraulic Tools. Mr. Payne stated that the items will be sold as part of the sale of the 1996 Quint vehicle that was retired. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Tim Clary, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $3,820,064.52. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Mrs. Moulton abstained. Board of Public Works and Safety August 20, 2019 Page 2 MISCELLANEOUS Special Event Request-“Tis the Season 5K Holiday Run President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for ‘Tis the Season 5K Holiday Run to be held on December 7, 2019 from 6:00am-10:30am in and around Downtown Lafayette. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Special Event Request-German Fest President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the German Fest to be held on September 7, 2019 from 4:00pm-11:00pm located in the street surrounding St. Boniface. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed.
