BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES May 18, 2021 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Amy Moulton, Ron Shriner and Norm Childress. Jacque Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Moulton moved for approval of the minutes from the May 11, 2021 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Recommendation for Award- Highland Park Curb Replacement Project Mr. Grenard presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Recommendation for Award for Highland Park Curb Replacement Project with Dixon Construction in the amount of $139,440.00. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Contract- Highland Park Curb Replacement Project Mr. Grenard presented to the Board and recommended approval of Contract for Highland Park Curb Replacement Project with Dixon Construction in the amount of $139,440.00. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Notice to Proceed- Highland Park Curb Replacement Project Mr. Grenard presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Notice to Proceed for Highland Park Curb Replacement Project with Dixon Construction. The notice is set to start today. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. Permission to Advertise-Bonlou Drive Signal Installation Jeromy Grenard, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Permission to Advertise for the Bonlou Drive Signal Installation. The advertisements are set to run on May 21 & 28, 2021 with the bid opening on June 8, 2021. Discussion ensued. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety May 18, 2021 Page 2 On-Call Contract with TBird Designs Mr. Grenard presented to the Board and recommended approval of the On-Call Contract with TBird Designs through the end of 2021. Assignments under this contract will be via a Task Order that will be brought to the Board for individual approval. Mr. Grenard answered questions from the Board regarding the upcoming task orders and the cost amounts for these task orders. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Purchasing Declaration of Surplus Property-Police Department Dave Payne, Purchasing Manager, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Surplus Property for the Police Department that includes a tan 2005 GMC Yukon VIN# 1GKEK13T15J110931 City ID# 5-165 and a black 2008 Chevrolet Silverado VIN# 1GCEK19JX8Z169872 City ID# 8-164. The vehicles will be traded in for another vehicle. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Jeremy Diehl, Deputy Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $3,423,208.75. Mr. Childress asked a question regarding the numerous invoices for Spring Taxes to Tippecanoe County. Mr0. Diehl stated once a year the City pays taxes for buildings, ditch fees, etc. Mr. Childress asked a question on Page 40 regarding the Columbian Park Carousel and the percentage of completion of that project. Mr. Diehl stated that the project is roughly 99% completed. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed.
