BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES July 6, 2021 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Amy Moulton, Norm Childress and Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Moulton moved for approval of the minutes from the June 29, 2021 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Contract-Bonlou Drive Signal Installation Project Jeromy Grenard, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Contract for the Bonlou Drive Signal Installation Project with Hawk Enterprises. The contract is in the amount of $285,678.19. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Notice to Proceed-Bonlou Drive Signal Installation Project Mr. Grenard presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Notice to Proceed for the Bonlou Drive Signal Installation Project. The project is set to start today upon approval. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Change Order #1-2021 CDB Curb, Sidewalk, Approach and Ramp Replacement Project Mr. Grenard presented to the Board and recommended approval of Change Order #1 for the 2021 CDBG Curb, Sidewalk, Approach and Ramp Replacement Project with Dixon Construction. The change order includes concrete and gutter, sidewalk and drive approach added for better transition to meet existing and fix drainage issues. The change order is an addition in the amount of $22,608.50 which brings the revised contract amount to $146,311.50. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Change Order #1-Treece Meadows North Entrance Reconstruction Mr. Grenard presented to the Board and recommended approval of Change Order #1 for the Treece Meadows North Entrance Reconstruction with Heartland Contractors. The change order includes addition of handicap ramps and complete ramps at the intersection. The change order is an addition in the amount of $3,800.00 which brings the revised contract amount to $66,172.00. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety July 6, 2021 Page 2 CLAIMS Jenna Karle, Controller’s Office, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $3,958,802.40. President Henriott asked a question on Page 29 regarding the Gripp Incorporated invoice for Additional Rain Gauge System. Mrs. Karla stated that those rain gauges are for Lafayette Renew. Brad Talley, Renew Superintendent, explained how the rain gauges are utilized with the system along with the importance of the data they provide. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. Mrs. Murray announced that the Common Council meeting will be held tonight at 6:00pm due to Independence Day Holiday observance yesterday.
