BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES May 17, 2022 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Norm Childress, Amy Moulton and Ron Shriner. Absent: Cindy Murray Jacque Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Moulton moved for approval of the minutes from the May 10, 2022 regular meeting. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. BIDS UNDER ADVISEMENT 18 N. 5th Street Parking Garage 2022 Restoration President Henriott stated that this item will remain under advisement. NEW BUSINESS Engineering Recommendation for Award-2022-2 Ramp Replacement Project Jeromy Grenard, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Recommendation for Award for the 2022-2 Ramp Replacement Project with Dixon Construction. The bid was determined to be complete. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Contract-2022-2 Ramp Replacement Project Mr. Grenard presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Contract for the 2022-2 Ramp Replacement Project with Dixon Construction in the amount of $84,100.00. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Notice to Proceed-2022-2 Ramp Replacement Project Mr. Grenard presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Notice to Proceed for the 2022-2 Ramp Replacement Project dated to start today. The completion date is mid-summer 2022. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety May 17, 2022 Page 2 Parks Department Change Order #2-CAT Park All- Inclusive Sports Field Jon Miner, Parks Department, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Change Order #2 for the CAT Park All-Inclusive Sports Field with HP Legacy, LP. The change order is an increase in the amount of $2,995.00 which brings the revised contract amount to $747,316.00. The change order changes the 50/50 color mix on one of the three selected colors (cocoa) of the poured in pace surfacing to a 100% color. The change order does not change the date of substantial completion. Discussion ensued. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Jenna Karle, Deputy Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $439,379.79. Mr. Childress asked a question on Page 10 regarding the St. Vincent Health Wellness and Prevention Care for Indiana PERF Exams and Pulmonary Function Tests. Mrs. Karle stated that this is for potential new hires for Police Department. Mayor Roswarski stated that this exam is a requirement for PERF. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. MISCELLANEOUS Special Event Request-Aviator’s Street Festival David Krakower, Event Representative, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for Aviator’s Street Festival to be held on July 16, 2022 from 1:00pm-6:00pm. The festival will be located at Loeb Stadium, Wallace Avenue between Main Street and 24th Street as well as on 24th Street between Wallace Avenue and Brice Street. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed.
