BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES June 14, 2022 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Cindy Murray, Amy Moulton, Ron Shriner and Norm Childress. Absent: Gary Henriott Jacque Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present. Mrs. Murray called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Moulton moved for approval of the minutes from the June 7, 2022 regular meeting. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Purchasing Permission to Advertise-RFP Lafayette Public Safety Center Signage Fabrication and Installation Dave Payne, Purchasing Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Permission to Advertise for the RPF for Lafayette Public Safety Center Signage Fabrication and Installation. Publications are set to run on June 24 & July 1, 2022 with the bid opening on July 12, 2022. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. Declaration of Surplus Property-Fleet Maintenance (Truck Topper) Mr. Payne presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Surplus Property for Fleet Maintenance that includes a 2012 Ranch fiberglass truck topper City ID# From F-34 and no Serial Number. Mr. Payne stated that this item will be sold on GovDeals.com. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. Declaration of Surplus Property-Fleet Maintenance (Ladder Rack) Mr. Payne presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Surplus Property for Fleet Maintenance that includes an Adrian Steel over-the-cab ladder rack Model # Load Runner with no Serial Number or City ID#. Mr. Payne stated that this item will be sold on GovDeals.com. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Paula King, Controller’s Office, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $2,680,951.03. Mrs. Murray asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Childress seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety June 14, 2022 Page 2 MISCELLANEOUS Special Event Request-Lafayette Fire Rescue Training Mrs. Murray presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event Request for the Lafayette Fire Rescue Training to be held on June 20, 2022 from 8:00am-12:00noon on the John T. Meyers Bridge. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Taxi Cab Permits Adam Mellady, Police Department, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Taxi Cab Permit for Kristin Burruss. Mr. Childress moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed.
