BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES August 1, 2023 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Amy Moulton and Eric Rody. Absent: Ron Shriner Jacque Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mr. Rody moved for approval of the minutes from the July 25, 2023 regular meeting. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. QUOTES UNDER ADVISEMENT Lafayette Renew-Coating/Painting Project 2023 President Henriott stated that this item will remain under advisement. NEW BUSINESS Lafayette Renew Significant Industrial User Permit-Ice Cream Specialties Josh Terry, Renew, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Significant Industrial User Permit for Ice Cream Specialties. Mr. Terry stated that Ice Cream Specialties is permitted through the Pretreatment Program for a 4-year permit renewal, and they are in good standing. Mr. Terry stated that a minor change includes “Foam” was added to the list of Prohibited Substances on Page 6; “Interference” and “Passthrough” were added to the definitions section on Page 17. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Jeremy Diehl, Controller, presented for Board approval, Claims in the amount of $5,359,124.70. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Diehl stated that there are invoices for road salt contract that fulfills the City’s minimum purchasing obligation. There will be more invoices for road salt contract next week as well. Mr. Rody moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed.
