BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES July 9, 2024 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Ron Shriner, Amy Moulton, and Eric Rody. Jacque Chosnek, City Attorney, was also present. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Murray moved for approval of the minutes from the July 2, 2024 regular meeting. Mr. Rody seconded. Passed. QUOTES UNDER ADVISEMENT Renew 2024 Digesters Exterior Sealing Project President Henriott stated that this item will remain under advisement. Renew 2024 Building Capstone/Wall Expansion Joint Sealing Project President Henriott stated that this item will remain under advisement. NEW BUSINESS Parks Department Recommendation for Award-McCaw Park Improvements Phase 2-Trails and Pickleball Courts Claudine Laufman, Parks Superintendent, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Recommendation for Award for the McCaw Park Improvements Phase 2-Trails and Pickleball Courts with J.R. Kelly Company in the amount of $2,803,000.00. The bid was determined to be complete. The funding for this project will be from TIF Funds. Mr. Shriner moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. Contract- McCaw Park Improvements Phase 2-Trails and Pickleball Courts Mrs. Laufman presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Contract for the McCaw Park Improvements Phase 2-Trails and Pickleball Courts with J.R. Kelly Company in the amount for $2,803,000.00. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Notice to Proceed- McCaw Park Improvements Phase 2-Trails and Pickleball Courts Mrs. Laufman presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Notice to Proceed for the McCaw Park Improvements Phase 2-Trails and Pickleball Courts starting today. The project will be substantially complete by Board of Public Works and Safety July 9, 2024 Page 2 the end of 2024 with final seeding and landscaping being complete by spring of 2025. Mr. Rody moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. Lafayette Renew Change Order #1-2023 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project Brad Talley, Renew Superintendent, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Change Order #1 for the 2023 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project with Miller Pipeline Corp. The change order is a deduction in the amount of $36,169.63. which brings the revised contract amount to $330,031.04. The change order encompassed material quantity adjustments and time extensions. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Rody seconded. Passed. Certificate of Substantial Completion-2023 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project Mr. Talley presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Certificate of Substantial Completion for the 2023 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project. The substantial completion date is May 28, 2024 with the final completion date to follow 30 days after. Mr. Rody moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Jeremy Diehl, Controller, presented for Board approval of Claims in the amount of $21,893,279.55. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Rody moved for approval. Mr. Shriner seconded. Passed. MISCELLANEOUS Banner Request-German Fest President Henriott presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Banner Request for German Fest to be hung across Columbia Street from August 27-September 10, 2024. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed.
