BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES October 15, 2024 Regular Session: The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray and Eric Rody. Absent: Ron Shriner and Amy Moulton Jacque Chosnek, City Attorney, was absent. President Henriott called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. MINUTES Mrs. Murray moved for approval of the minutes from the October 8, 2024 regular meeting. Mr. Rody seconded. Passed. QUOTE OPENING Quotes: Small Concrete Projects This being the time set to open quotes for the Board of Public Works and Safety for the Quotes: Small Concrete Projects the following quotes were received and opened: Dixon Construction Lafayette, Indiana Base Bid: $46,870.00 Case Construction Edinburgh, Indiana Base Bid: $51,500.00 Mrs. Murray moved to take the quotes under advisement for further review. Mr. Rody seconded. Passed. NEW BUSINESS Water Works Permission to Advertise-Lead Service Line Replacements, Phase 1 Steve Moore, Water Works Superintendent, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Permission to Advertise for the Lead Service Line Replacements, Phase 1. The publication is set to run on October 18 and 25, 2024 with the bid opening on November 12, 2024. Mr. Moore gave the Board a brief description of the details of the project. Mr. Rody moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. Board of Public Works and Safety October 15, 2024 Page 2 Certificate of Substantial Completion-Glick Wellfield Improvements Mr. Moore presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Certificate of Completion for the Glick Wellfield Improvements with Reynolds Construction. The date of substantial completion was August 16, 2024. Mr. Moore answered questions from the Board. Mr. Rody moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. CLAIMS Jeremy Diehl, Controller, presented for Board approval of Claims in the amount of $488,380.01. President Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Rody moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed. MISCELLANEOUS 2025 Holiday Schedule Mrs. Murray presented to the Board and recommended approval of the 2025 Holiday Schedule. This calendar encompasses all the holidays that are spelled out in the Employee Handbook. Mr. Rody moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed.
