MINUTES
December 3, 2024
Regular Session:
The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. in the
Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Amy Moulton and Eric
Rody. Absent: Ron Shriner
President Henriott called the meeting to order.
The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country.
MINUTES
Mrs. Moulton moved for approval of the minutes from the November 26, 2024 regular meeting. Mr. Rody
seconded. Passed.
QUOTE OPENING
Quotes: Five Points Fire Station Exterior Bay Door Reconstruction
This being the time set to open quotes for the Board of Public Works and Safety for the Quotes: Five Points Fire
Station Exterior Bay Door Reconstruction the following quote was received and opened:
Spencer Construction
Lafayette, Indiana
Base Bid: $97,150.00
Mr. Rody moved to take the quote under advisement for further review. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed.
BIDS UNDER ADVISEMENT
Lead Service Line Replacements, Phase 1
President Henriott stated that this item will remain under advisement.
NEW BUSINESS
Lafayette Renew
Amendment #1 to Task Order #5 for Wastewater Master Plan Update, Phase 1
Brad Talley, Renew Superintendent, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Amendment #1 to
Task Order #5 for the Wastewater Master Plan Update, Phase 1 with Wessler Engineering. Mr. Talley stated that
the amended scope of service includes evaluating an additional sewershed bringing the total to four (4)
sewersheds targeted for development to determine the maximum amount of additional flow that can be accepted
with the existing infrastructure. The compensation for the amended scope is a not-to-exceed amount of
$45,000.00 which brings the fee for Task Order #5 to $95,000.00 without the City of Lafayette’s approval.
Discussion ensued. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Rody seconded. Passed.

Task Order #7 for Prairie Oaks Permanent Bypass
Mr. Talley presented to the Board and recommended approval of Task Order #7 for the Prairie Oaks Permanent
Bypass with Wessler Engineering. Mr. Talley stated that the contract will provide survey, design, and quote
services for the permanent bypass of the Prairie Oaks Lift Station’s force main discharge. The Task Order is in the
amount not-to-exceed $30,000.00 without the City of Lafayette approval. Discussion ensued. Mr. Rody moved for
approval. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed.
CLAIMS
Jeremy Diehl, Controller, presented for Board approval of Claims in the amount of $2,791,272.45. Mr. Rody
asked a question on Page 11 regarding the Alt & Witzig Engineering invoice for Lafayette Antique Landfill
Delineation. Mr. Diehl stated that this is an area that has been identified as an historic landfill and this is for
survey of the area. President Henriott asked a question on Page 8 regarding the UBO Deposit Refund invoice for
Temp Co Refund APP 26374 3228 Majestic Lane. Mr. Diehl stated that this is references a certificate of
occupancy refund. President Henriott asked a question on Page 8 regarding the City of Lafayette Bank Transfer
invoice for Sewer Lien Money from Tippecanoe County Deposit. Mr. Diehl stated that this is for sanitary sewer
and storm sewer liens assessed on properties-for June tax sale. Mrs. Moulton moved for approval. Mr. Rody
seconded. Passed.
MISCELLANEOUS
Special Event Request-Pearl Harbor Day
Robert Mantle, Event Representative, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event
Request for Pearl Harbor Day to be held on December 7, 2024 from 12:00noon-2:00pm on the John T. Myers
Bridge and Big 4 Depot Community Room. Mr. Rody moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed.
