MINUTES
June 17, 2025
Regular Session:
The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. in the
Common Council Chambers. Members present were: Gary Henriott, Cindy Murray, Amy Moulton and Eric
Rody. Absent: Ron Shriner
Jacque Chosnek, City Attorney, was absent.
President Henriott called the meeting to order.
The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country.
MINUTES
Mrs. Moulton moved for approval of the minutes from the June 10, 2025 regular meeting. Mrs. Murray seconded.
Passed.
BID OPENING
2025 Greenbush Street CDBG Project
This being the time set to open bids for the Board of Public Works and Safety for the 2025 Greenbush Street

Resolution 09-2025 A Resolution of the Lafayette Board of Works and Public Safety Adopting a Goal to Reduce
Traffic Related-Fatalities and Supporting an Eventual Goal of Zero Roadway Fatalities and Serious Injuries
Jeromy Grenard, Public Works Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of Resolution 09-
2025 A Resolution of the Lafayette Board of Works and Public Safety Adopting a Goal to Reduce Traffic
Related-Fatalities and Supporting an Eventual Goal of Zero Roadway Fatalities and Serious Injuries. Mr. Grenard
stated that this resolution expresses the City of Lafayette’s commitment to improve roadway safety. Mr. Grenard
went over the details of the Safe Streets for All Action Plan and answered questions from the Board. Mrs. Murray
moved for approval. Mr. Rody seconded. Passed.
Memorandum of Understanding-Wea School Restoration, Service Area 11B
Mr. Grenard presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Memorandum of Understanding for Wea
School Restoration, Service Area 11B with Tippecanoe County. This MOU refers to the portion of Wea School
Road between County Road 250 East and County Road 150 East (18th Street). The city will construct a new
twenty-six foot (26’) wide, full asphalt road base in the area of complete pavement removal, required for gravity
sewer construction between the new Lift Station and Concord Road. Tippecanoe County will install surface. Mr.
Rody moved for approval. Mrs. Murray seconded. Passed.

Dave Payne, Purchasing Director, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Declaration of Surplus

Jeremy Diehl, Controller, presented for Board approval of Claims in the amount of $5,913,311.62. President
Henriott asked if there were any further questions and there were none. Mr. Rody moved for approval. Mrs.
Moulton seconded. Passed.
MISCELLANEOUS
Special Event Request-Special Event Request-Lafayette City Flea/McCords Candies
Angie Pattengale, Event Representative, presented to the Board and recommended approval of a Special Event
Request for the Lafayette City Flea/McCords Candies to be held on August 30, 2025 from 3:00pm-9:00pm
located on Main Street from 5th Street to 6th Street. Mrs. Murray moved for approval. Mr. Rody seconded. Passed.
Taxicab Permit
Scott Galloway, Chief of Police, presented to the Board and recommended denial of a Taxicab Permit for Dakota
Johnson. Chief Galloway stated that after review of the application recommended that the Board deny the permit.
Mrs. Murray moved for denial. Mrs. Moulton seconded. Passed.
