MINUTES OF THE LAFAYETTE COMMON COUNCIL JULY 1, 2019 REGULAR MEETING The Common Council of the City of Lafayette, Indiana met in regular session on Monday, July 1, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 20 North 6th Street, Lafayette, Indiana. President Campbell called the meeting to order at 6:30pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. Present: Nargi, Reynolds, Brown, Ahlersmeyer, Weast-Williamson, Downing and Campbell Absent: Heide, Klinker City Clerk Cindy Murray and City Attorney Ed Chosnek were present Councilman Brown moved to approve the minutes of the June 3, 2019 council meetings. Councilwoman Ahlersmeyer seconded. Motion passed by unanimous voice vote. There were no Claims, Petitions or Communications: The Clerk stated the following reports are available in the City Clerk’s Office: Fleet Maintenance Monthly-May Renew Department Monthly- May Police Department Monthly-May Water Works Monthly-May No Ordinances for Second Reading Ordinances for First Reading: The Clerk read Ordinance 2019-19 (An Ordinance to Amend the Zoning Ordinance of Tippecanoe County Indiana, to Rezone Certain Real Estate from R3 to I3, 2149 Wabash Avenue- Tecspan Concrete Structures, LLC, petitioner) by title only on first and final reading. Councilwoman Nargi moved for passage, Councilman Reynolds seconded. Dan Teder, Attorney for the petitioner spoke regarding the planned project which includes a commitment to restrict land use. Ordinance 2019-19 passed 6-0 on a roll call vote on first and final reading. The Clerk read Ordinance 2019-20 (An Ordinance to Amend the Zoning Ordinance of Tippecanoe County Indiana, to Rezone Certain Real Estate from R3 & GB to PDRS- (A Single 25.07 acre lot on the south side of Twyckenham Blvd-Redwood Acquisitions, LLC. petitioner) by title only on first and final reading. Councilman Brown moved for passage, Councilwoman Ahlersmeyer seconded. Sarah Wyatt, Attorney for the petitioner spoke regarding the rezoning request. Russell Brown, Attorney for the project spoke regarding the planned development. Ordinance 2019-20 passed 6-0 on a roll call vote on first and final reading. There are No Resolutions No Reports of Standing Committees. No Reports of Special Committees. Miscellaneous and New Business. Dennis Carson, Economic Development Director presented the Compliance with Statement of Benefits for the following industries: Arconic, Inc. for Real Estate Arconic, Inc for Personal Property Arconic, Inc for Personal Property Councilwoman Weast-Williamson moved to find Arconic, Inc. in substantial compliance, Councilman Downing seconded. Motion passed Caterpillar, Inc. for Personal Property Caterpillar, Inc. for Personal Property Councilwoman Weast-Williamson moved to find Caterpillar Inc. in substantial compliance, Councilman Downing seconded. Motion passed Caterpillar Logistics, Inc. for Personal Property Councilwoman Weast-Williamson moved to find Caterpillar Logistics, Inc. in substantial compliance, Councilman Downing seconded. Motion passed No Report by the Mayor. Reports of Council: Mr. Downing recognized Matt Devine and Cecil Johnson of Code Enforcement also Dave Griffee and Courtney Cob of Engineering for working with him on issues in the city. There was no Public Comment. Councilman Reynolds moved to adjourn, Councilwoman Nargi seconded. Meeting was adjourned at 6:50 PM.
