MINUTES OF THE LAFAYETTE COMMON COUNCIL AUGUST 5, 2019 REGULAR MEETING The Common Council of the City of Lafayette, Indiana met in regular session on Monday, August 5, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 20 North 6th Street, Lafayette, Indiana. President Campbell called the meeting to order at 6:30pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country by the Boy Scouts of America. Present: Heide, Klinker, Nargi, Reynolds, Brown, Ahlersmeyer, Weast-Williamson, Downing and Campbell City Clerk Cindy Murray and 1st Deputy City Attorney Jacque Chosnek were present Councilman Brown moved to approve the minutes of the July 1, 2019 council meeting. Councilwoman Weast-Williamson seconded. Motion passed by 8-0 on a roll call vote. There were no Claims, Petitions or Communications: The Clerk stated the following reports are available in the City Clerk’s Office: Water Works Department Monthly- June Renew Department Monthly- June Police Department Monthly- June Fleet Maintenance Monthly-June No Ordinances for Second Reading Ordinances for First Reading: The Clerk read Ordinance 2019-21 (An Ordinance to Amend the Zoning Ordinance of Tippecanoe County Indiana, to Rezone Certain Real Estate from I3 to GB, 405 Farabee Drive.- Oldacre McDonald, LLC, petitioner) by title only on first and final reading. Councilman Klinker moved for passage, Councilwoman Nargi seconded. Dan Teder, Attorney for the petitioner spoke regarding the ordinance. Ordinance 2019-21 passed 8-0 on a roll call vote on first and final reading. Resolutions : Resolution 2019-14 (A Resolution Declaring the Designation of Certain Real Estate as an Economic Revitalization Area (ERA) and Approving the Application for Property Tax Abatement-Southwire Company, LLC-Personal Property) being withdrawn at the request of the petitioner. Councilman Reynolds moved to remove from the agenda, Councilman Heide seconded. No Reports of Standing Committees. No Reports of Special Committees. No Miscellaneous or New Business. No Report by the Mayor. No Report by the Council. There was no Public Comment. Councilman Heide moved to adjourn, Councilman Klinker seconded. Meeting was adjourned at 6:38 PM.
