MINUTES OF THE LAFAYETTE COMMON COUNCIL January 10, 2022 REGULAR MEETING (https://www.youtube.com/user/CityofLafayetteIN/live The Common Council of the City of Lafayette, Indiana met in regular session Monday, January 10, 2022 at 6:00 pm. President Weast-Williamson called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag of our Country. Present: Klinker, Nargi, Snyder, Reynolds, Hession Weiss, Brown, Ahlersmeyer, Downing and Weast-Williamson City Clerk Cindy Murray and City Attorney Jacque Chosnek were present Councilman Downing moved to nominate Councilman Brown as President of the Common Council for the year 2022, Councilwoman Ahlersmeyer seconded. The motion passed by unanimous voice vote. Thereafter, Councilman Brown presided over the meeting. Councilwoman Weast-Williamson moved to nominate Councilwoman Ahlersmeyer as President Pro-Tem for the year 2022, Councilwoman Hession Weiss seconded. The motion passed by unanimous voice vote. Councilwoman Weast-Williamson moved to approve the minutes of the December 6, 2021 council meeting, Councilman Klinker seconded. Motion passed by unanimous voice vote. There were no Disposal of Claims, Petitions or Communications: The Clerk stated the following reports are available in the City Clerk’s Office: Fleet Maintenance Department Monthly-November Police Department Monthly- November Renew Department Monthly- November October Water Works Department Monthly- November No Ordinances for Second Reading. No Ordinances for First Reading. Resolutions: The Clerk read Resolution 2022-01 (A Resolution Approving the Detail of the 2022 Water and Renew (Wastewater) Department Budgets) by title only on first and final reading. Councilman Reynolds moved for passage, Councilwoman Ahlersmeyer seconded. Jeremy Diehl, Controller spoke regarding the resolution. Resolution 2022-01 passed 8-0 on a roll call vote on first and final reading. No Reports of Standing Committees. No Reports of Special Committees. No Report by the Mayor. Miscellaneous or New Business: Councilman Klinker moved to approve the following Council Appointments: Mike Gibson-Greater Lafayette Public Transportation Company-4-year term Frank Donaldson-Redevelopment Commission-1-year term Councilwoman Nargi seconded. Motion passed by unanimous voice vote. No Reports by the Council. Public Comment: President Brown welcomed Councilwoman Eileen Hession Weiss to the Council. Councilman Klinker move to adjourned, Councilwoman Nargi seconded. Motion passed meeting adjourned at 6:15 PM.
