Order to Comply and Notice to Appear at Demolition Hearing-617 New York Street
Mr. Dieterle stated he has been in contact since the last meeting with 5-6 different people. Several of
those people have decided not to do the work. Mr. Dieterle stated that he gave one gentleman all the
information that he had regarding the property. Vista bought the property on tax sale. Mrs. Chosnek stated
that the biggest hurdle with getting this property fixed up is no one can get clean title to purchase for
rehab. The sale at tax sale alleviated that problem and now someone can come in and purchase the
property with clear title and opens up the window of opportunity for those that are capable of the work.
Mrs. Chosnek stated that the property is officially for sale by the tax sale company in the amount of
$28,000.00 with the intention of selling and not to rehabilitate it. There have been a couple of people that
have contacted them with an interest in purchasing the property, one from the neighborhood and the other
was Habitat for Humanity. Mrs. Chosnek recommended continuing this until the next meeting in
September to give a short window of opportunity to give the interested parties will purchase the property
and make rehabilitation feasible before the order for demolition is given. Mrs. Chosnek stated that the
neighbor has been hired to take care of the outside of the property for the time being with compensation.
The Deed will be recorded at the end of this week and then they will proceed to a Quiet Title Action. Mrs.
Murray moved to continue this order. Mr. Henriott seconded. Motion Carried.
