LAFAYETTE HEARING AUTHORITY March 22, 2016 The Lafayette Hearing Authority met on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. in the City Council Chambers of Lafayette City Hall. Present were: Ron Shriner and Cindy Murray. Absent: Gary Henriott Jacque Chosnek, 1st Deputy Attorney, was also present. Mr. Shriner called the meeting to order. MINUTES Mrs. Murray moved for approval of the February 9, 2016 minutes. Mr. Shriner seconded. Motion Carried. OLD BUSINESS Petition to Declare Property Abandoned-2528 Cambridge Road Mrs. Chosnek stated that this is a continuation of the hearing on the Petition to Declare 2528 Cambridge Road as abandoned. Mrs. Chosnek did not have proper service on the mortgage company at the last meeting in February. Mrs. Chosnek stated that she has since obtained service on the proper mortgage company in addition to the owner so they have both received notice of the Petition to Declare the property abandoned at today’s hearing. The real estate has been deemed abandoned due to the windows/entrances are boarded up and the property is deteriorating below the minimum community standards for public safety and sanitation. Mrs. Chosnek recommended declaring this property abandoned. Mrs. Murray moved to approve the petition to declare this property abandoned. Discussion ensued. Mr. Shriner seconded. Motion Carried.
