REGULAR MEETING OF THE LAFAYETTE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD 4:00 pm 19 October 2020 The City of Lafayette Parks and Recreation Board met in regular meeting at 4:00pm, October 19, 2020. The meeting was held via virtual “gotomeeting” which was livestreamed through City of Lafayette’s Youtube channel. The meeting was called to order by Park Board President, Maurie Denney. Board members present were Pat Corey, Dave Mecklenburg and Matt Metzger. Parks Director of Operations Jon Miner, City Controller Tim Clary, Deputy Controller Jeremy Diehl and Recording Secretary Jenny Spencer were also present. All votes will be taken via roll call. Upon motion by Pat Corey, seconded by Matt Metzger, and unanimously carried, minutes of the September 21, 2020 Parks Board meeting were approved. Upon motion of Matt Metzger seconded by Pat Corey, and unanimously carried, General Fund Claims in the amount of $103,235.87, Non-Reverting Fund Claims in the amount of $2,525.11 for a total of $105,760.98 were approved. Superintendent’s Report  Director of Operations, Jon Miner updated the board on the success of Boo at the Zoo at Columbian Park. Attendance was about 1940 over the first weekend with good community feedback. There is a McAllister Community Movie Night on Friday, October 30 sponsored by Coldwell Banker Schreckengast Realty. All necessary COVID precautions will be taken. The Memorial Island stage is taking shape. There is progress on the seawall and pouring the concrete pedestrian walk. At the Carousel site, brick pavers are going in. At Loeb Stadium turf is coming soon and power to the entire stadium has been turned on. Upon motion by Dave Mecklenburg, seconded by Pat Corey, and unanimously carried, the Board approved Resolution 20-03, the 2021 General Fund Budget.  City Controller, Tim Clary was present to answer budget related questions. Provided information to the board that the Parks will see the benefit of Federal dollars to states for public safety employees’ salaries relative to COVID. Upon motion by Matt Metzger, seconded by Pat Corey, and unanimously carried the Declaration of Surplus Property was approved.
