REGULAR MEETING OF THE LAFAYETTE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD 4:00 pm 15 November 2021 The City of Lafayette Parks and Recreation Board met in regular meeting at 4:00pm, November 15, 2021. The meeting was held at Rush Pavilion in Columbian Park. The meeting was called to order at 4:00pm by Park Board President, Maurie Denney. Board members present were Dave Mecklenburg, and Matt Metzger and Pat Corey. Parks Superintendent Claudine Laufman, Parks Director of Operations Jon Miner, Maintenance Manager Mike Perry, Ass’t Security Director Matt Henley, Ass’t Zoo Director Caitlin Laffery, McAllister Rec Center Ass’t Manager Emily Butler, Events Coordinator Bridgett Haro and Recording Secretary Jenny Spencer were also present. Upon motion by Ms. Corey, seconded by Mr. Mecklenburg, and unanimously carried, minutes of the October 18, 2021 Parks Board meeting were approved. Upon motion of Mr. Mecklenburg, seconded by Ms. Corey, and unanimously carried, General Fund Claims in the amount of $28,349.72, Non-Reverting Fund Claims in the amount of $6,505.61 and beautification funds of $97.50 for a total of $34,952.83 were approved. Superintendent’s Report • Superintendent Laufman introduced Events Coordinator Bridgett Haro. Ms. Haro discussed social media for McAllister winter programs. There will be a movie night held at Loeb Stadium on November 20. The suites were sold separately within hours of the announcement of the event. Fall Festival had over 400 attendees. Mr. Denney posed a question regarding selling press box space for movie night. A discussion followed. • Superintendent Laufman provided an update on projects. Loeb Stadium had bollards installed on sidewalks to provide protection to building in the event of vehicle crashes. We are working through the punch list. At Memorial Island the sod and landscaping work continues. At the Columbian Park Restroom project, the slab was poured today. Upon motion by Mr. Mecklenburg, seconded by Mr. Metzger, and unanimously carried, Resolution 21-03, 2022 Holiday Schedule was approved. (See Attachment A) Upon motion by Ms. Corey, seconded by Mr. Metzger, 2022 Park Board Meeting Dates were approved.
